Muriel’s Wedding to return to Sydney in 2019

In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald today, Global Creatures CEO Carmen Pavlovic confirmed that the brand new hit Australian musical Muriel’s Wedding will have a return Sydney season at the Lyric Theatre in July 2019.

The world premiere season (co-produced by Sydney Theatre Company) has enjoyed positive reviews and many sold out houses as well as the release of an Original Cast Recording.

While the 18 month break before the return season is due to theatre availability, Pavlovic does concede it will give the creative team time to tweak parts of the show. Producers are also exploring other possible venues – both metropolitan and regional – so an announcement of an extended tour could be on the cards at some point soon.

No cast have been confirmed for the return season at this stage.

Waitlist for tickets is now open at www.murielsweddingthemusical.com
