Italian baritone Luca Micheletti will make his Opera Australia debut as the devilish titular character in Sir David McVicar’s highly acclaimed production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
Known not only for his magnificent baritone voice, he is also recognised for his stand-out acting skills, all of which he will bring to the role of the debauched Don Giovanni for the first time in his career on the Joan Sutherland Theatre stage.
“It’s an amazing character, full of shades. It’s probably one of the most balanced between acting and singing,” he said.
The critically acclaimed singer began his career as a theatre actor and stage director before finding his passion for opera. He studied under renowned tenor Mario Malagnini.
