Logan has new play

Ross Logan’s brand new play, The Last Straw is a hilarious and satirical look at what it is to break up in this commercial and materialistic world.

The action traces the unruly break up of Hugo (Damian Sommerlad) and Imogen (Sophie Cook) a successful middle class couple who’ve decided to call it a day after a certain indiscretion in a public bathroom.

What follows is a painfully sharp comedy about the pitfalls of love and betrayal in modern times.

Set in a chic Sydney harbourside apartment Hugo and Imogen’s war of words gradually descends into a bloodsport of riotous insults as they jockey for the right to take over the apartment, all the while vulture-neighbours circle, hoping to pick up the scraps – some free furniture and anything else lying around.

Ross Logan’s script is a funny and disturbingly familiar expose of nature of human relationships, love, tears, modular convenience and hands-free sex toys.

The Last Straw plays at the Newtown Theatre in Sydney from April 6. Bookings: www.mca-tix.com.
