Kinky Boots Australia cast will perform at the AFL Pride Game

Today at Etihad Stadium, the cast of the new Australian production of Kinky Boots the Musical will join in with the inuagural AFL Pride Game.

As the Game’s official entertainment partner, the cast will be giving a pre-match performance under a pair of 3.3m high “kinky boots.”

Leading man Toby Francis will sing two songs, joined by other cast members from the production and the OCPAC choir: Cyndi Lauper’s anthem “True Colors” (she wrote the music for Kinky Boots), and “Just Be,” a song from the show.

The Pride Game will be played between St Kilda and the Sydney Swans. The goal umpires will wave rainbow flags, and the players will be covered in rainbows.

The Pride Game, and Kinky Boots, share a common message: for people to embrace their true selves. You can read more about the game here.

What a great time for AFL, LGBT Pride, and musical theatre!

Kinky Boots opens in Melbourne in October at Her Majesty’s Theatre. To learn more about the show and its traveling giant boots, click here
