Judi Connelli returns to Sydney Cabaret

Following the successful launch of Civic Cabaret with Rhonda Burchmore, Grace Knight and Tom Burlinson at the Civic Hotel in October, producer Trevor Ashley has announced the return to the Sydney cabaret stage of the legendary Judi Connelli.

Playing four dates only during the 2010 Mardi Gras Festival, this show is much anticipated by cabaret fans in Sydney. Connelli’s most recent cabaret performance in Sydney was in Matters of the Heart at Bar Me in 2006, for which she was awarded Best Cabaret at the 2006 Sydney Theatre Awards.

The return of sophisticated cabaret at the Civic Hotel has proved to be a very popular with audiences, allowing Sydneysiders to experience fine dining and top class performers in Sydney’s finest cabaret setting. This new show is sure to sell out. Accompanied on the piano by Michael Tyack, Connelli will sing some new material and old favourites.

Judi Connelli’s 40 year career spans opera, operetta, theatre, musicals, television, cabaret and recording. In recent years she has performed the roles of Carlotta Campion in Follies with The Production Company, Aunt March in Little Women for Kookaburra and for Opera Australia, Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd.

The show plays at The Civic Hotel from Thursday, February 25. For details, call 132 849 or logon to www.ticketek.com.au.
