After an out-of-town try out in Albury, NSW, a new Australian musical is bound for Melbourne this October.
Strange Bedfellows – A New Musical, is based on the 2004 hit film of the same name starring Paul Hogan and Michael Caton. Instinct Entertainment in association with McLaren House are presenting the musical which is composed by Australian musician and television personality John Foreman (pictured).
The production is currently in the final stages of the audition process, and AussieTheatre.com understands it is scheduled to start rehearsals mid September. The cast of 22 (plus onstage swings) will be working towards previews late October.
Directed by Rodger Hodgman, musically directed by Kellie Dickerson (currently musically directing Dr. Zhivago) and choreographed by Dana Jolly, Strange Bedfellows tells the hysterical story of two straight men who register as a same-sex couple in order to clear a large tax bill. What began as a simple little lie, unleashes one hilarious adventure.
