Jan van de Stool will host Hats Off! in 2015.
It’s an essential part of the musical calendar in Sydney, right in the middle of Mardi Gras, and it’s almost back again: It’s Hats Off! time.
On Monday 23 February, the fundraising concert extravaganza for Oz Showbiz Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS returns to the Seymour Centre with its latest installment: Hats Off! To The Hits. That’s right, pop hits. This year, the show will deliver a musical theatre take on pop classics.
Hosts for the year are international musical therapist Jan van de Stool (Queenie van de Zandt’s good friend) and co-host Garry Scale (Squabbalogic’s Mystery Musical).
Performers this year comprise some of our best and brightest musical theatre stars: Lucy Maunder, Tom Sharah, iOta, Bobby Fox, Queenie van de Zandt, Matthew Mitcham, Chloe Dallimore, Katrina Retallick, Margi de Ferranti, Cath Alcorn, Josie Lane, Adele Parkinson, Elenoa Rokoboa, Glenn Hill, Ruhi Lavaki, Blake Bowden, Andrew Buknya, Dawn Service, the cast of Man of La Mancha – and there’s more to come!
This year Hats Off! will be directed by Wicked’s own Boq, Edward Grey, and the musical director will be Michael Dench. Bali Padda will produce.
Hats Off! is presented by Oz Showbiz Cares / Equity Fights AIDS Inc. All proceeds go toward supporting ACON and the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation.
Catch Hats Off! at the York Theatre Seymour Centre on Monday 23rd February, and remember: it’s for a good cause! Book tickets here.
