Opera Australia HOSH 2019 West Side Story
400,000 people have been to Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour since it launched in 2012 and this year is an opportunity to revisit the show that started it all with a revival of Verdi’s iconic La Traviata.
Opera Australia has assembled an all-star cast from Australia and around the world for this year’s over-water spectacular. Stunning Australian soprano Stacey Alleaume will make her debut as leading lady Violetta with her star-crossed lover Alfredo played by Kosovan Rame Lahaj, a role he has become famous for around the globe.
This is an opportunity to experience Sydney’s harbourside views at its best with luxury pop-up dining, bars set amongst the treetops, and impressive sunset vistas of the city skyline, Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House.
Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour has become the outdoor event of the year. Opening on 27 March 2020 for an exclusive four-week season, thousands of people are expected to flock to the waterfront venue for a night to remember.
