Tonight’s performance of the blockbuster musical Wicked in Brisbane has been cancelled as the Queensland flood emergency continues to develop.
The Queensland Performing Arts Centre has been closed as concerns continue to rise and the disaster, which has claimed at least nine lives, continues to unfold.
It has also been confirmed that the matinee performance of Wicked tomorrow as well as tomorrow evening’s performance will not go ahead, nor will other performances slated for the centre.
Qtix will be in contact with patrons to make alternative arrangements as soon as more information is available.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience however public safety and security is of paramount importance,” the theatre said in a statement.
