Exclusive Update from Frosty the Showman, part 2 (Legally Blonde)
We continue our chat with Producer, John Frost.
We continue our chat with Producer, John Frost. Legally BlondeAussieTheatre.com can confirm that the casting process for this show is far from over. With auditions taking place as late as last week, it is clear that Frost and his team are leaving no stone unturned. OMIGOD you guys, the long casting process promises a perfect line-up for this show.
We can also confirm that up to 4 Australian female performers are soon to be flown to America for final auditions with Jerry Mitchell (director and choreographer of Legally Blonde) for the role of Elle Woods.
According to Frost, the ‘Elle’ hopefuls will be flown to the US, subject to Jerry Mitchell’s availability in the next few weeks so he can “concentrate and work with the girls” and help select the young lady who will originate the role of Elle Woods in Australia.
Despite eager anticipation from the industry and the general public alike, Frost warns that there will be no announcements just yet.
“Our plan is to announce [casting] in February, so we still have a while to finalise”, he said. There have been some rumours surrounding Legally Blonde’s opening date and theatre booking lately, and Frost gives nothing away.
“Our plan is, without a doubt, to open in Sydney in 2012. No contracts have been signed with theatres, and until we have a cast we won’t be committing to any venue”, he said.
