EVERYTHING AND NOTHING The Songs of Luke Di Somma Cast Announcement

Leading New Zealand musical theatre writer Luke Di Somma makes his Melbourne debut at the MC Showroom in September with a cabaret of his own material – EVERYTHING AND NOTHING – The Songs of Luke Di Somma.

EVERYTHING AND NOTHING – The Songs of Luke Di Somma features a line-up of some of Australasia’s best musical theatre talent, including Helpmann Award winner Elise McCann (Wedding Singer, Matilda, Merrily We Roll Along); Zoy Frangos (Variations, South Pacific, Evita); Milo Hartill (Fangirls, Bonnie & Clyde); Andrew Coshan (Merrily We Roll Along, Phantom of the Opera, A View from the Bridge); Isla Brentwood (X Factor Australia, The Buddy Holly Story) and Finley Brentwood (X Factor Australia, Jesus Christ Superstar).

Di Somma trained at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and has called Melbourne home for nearly four years. He is the co-writer of the smash hit Kiwi musical That Bloody Woman – the first New Zealand show to be licensed by Music Theatre International. He is currently under commission by New Zealand Opera, and will conduct his new score for The Unruly Tourists in Auckland in 2023.

Di Somma:

I am thrilled to be making my cabaret debut in Naarm, and to bring my songs together with such an extroardong cast of actors, some of whom are my Kiwi mates from Aotearoa.

EVERYTHING AND NOTHING – The Songs of Luke Di Somma features original songs penned by Di Somma over the last few years – ruminations on love, home and some of the quirkier aspects of the strange times we live in. The show features some of Australasia’s best singing talent, and promises to be a hilarious and heartbreaking ‘night at the cabaret.

Stuff.co.nz:

Brimming with potential and a desire to use his talent to say something urgent and intense. I can’t wait to see what he does next.

The infectious, urgent and catchy tunes gave me goosebumps several times, while some of the more moving numbers brought me to tears.
