Eddie Perfect
When Baz Luhrmann’s musical Strictly Ballroom opens in Melbourne later this month, it will be with a brand new opening number.
An article appearing in today’s Age features an interview with performer and composer Eddie Perfect, who was charged with writing the new piece for the Aussie musical, which opened to mixed reviews when it debuted in Sydney in 2014.
After a substantial break between seasons, the cast are now busy rehearsing their new music and choreography in preparation for their upcoming run at Her Majesty’s Theatre. It is hoped that the new opening will bring new life to the block buster Australian Musical and Melbourne audiences will have the first chance to see the revamped, multi million dollar tuner from January 17.

After the ordinary reviews in Sydney I am heartened that the show is being revved up the Melbourne season - can't wait to hear the new music and my personal favourite Rohan do their thing.
