Dream cast complete: more cast announced for Dream Lover the musical
The world premiere cast of Dream Lover – The Bobby Darin Musical is now complete, following an official announcement from Producer John Frost this morning.

The full ensemble and the actors set to play young Bobby Darin have been confirmed, less than two months away from the show’s official opening on September 22 this year.
The ensemble roles and fabulous swings on the production will include Xander Ellis, Matt Hamilton, Andrew Kroenert, Jessica Lindon, Tim Maddren, Phoebe Panaretos, Natasha Paramor, Joshua Robson, Michelle Smitheram, Suzanne Steele, Ellen Sutton, Riley Sutton, Jack Van Staveren and Jayde Westaby.
The role of young Bobby Darin will be shared by three young actors who will alternate performances; Kyle Banfield (11 years old, from Gladesville), Nicholas Cradock (11, from Wahroonga) and Brendan Godwin (12, from The Ponds).
The previously announced principal cast includes David Campbell as Bobby Darin, Caroline O’Connor in the dual roles of Darin’s mother Polly and Sandra Dee’s mother Mary, Hannah Fredericksen as Sandra Dee, Bert LaBonte as Charlie, Martin Crewes as Darin’s longtime manager Steve Blauner, and Marney McQueen as Nina, Darin’s sister.
“Simon Phillips has assembled an extraordinary cast for this wonderful World Premiere, led by David Campbell and Caroline O’Connor”, said producer John Frost.

“With an 18-piece band on stage and the best creative team we could have hoped for, this brand new musical is set to be an unforgettable experience for audiences. Everyone will be tapping their feet to those wonderful hit songs from the 1960s like ‘Mack the Knife’, ‘Splish Splash’, ‘Beyond the Sea’ and ‘Dream Lover’, and I have no doubt by the end of the show they’ll be on their feet dancing.”
Much to the delight of Australian musical theatre fans, this world premiere season of Dream Lover – The Bobby Darin Musical has already confirmed that a cast album will be released in August thanks to the producers and Sony Music Entertainment Australia.
The production will commence performances on September 22 at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre, The Star.
