DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS – Schemes, Scandals and Showtunes all in one show

Riverside Theatres’ upcoming show “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” at Hayes Theatre and Riverside Theatres and Redfern Lane are thrilled to present the devilishly cheeky, fun-filled Broadway musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels from 22nd May to 21st June at Hayes Theatre Co and 25th June to 28th June at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta.

Based on the hit 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin, this Tony-nominated musical comedy follows two cunning conmen, the elegant, ruthless Lawrence Jamieson and the wildly unpredictable Freddy Benson, as they go head-to-head on the French Riviera in a winner-takes-all game of deception. Their target? A sweet, unsuspecting American heiress. But in a world built on lies and reinvention, nothing, and no one, is quite what they see.

Music theatre star and Hayes Theatre Co favourite, Blake Erickson, leads the cast as Lawrence Jamieson, a suave conman who believes in tricking corrupt, rich people out of their money to finance his lavish lifestyle. Blake just finished performing in the national tour of Cluedo. He most recently wowed audiences at both Hayes and Riverside with his hilarious performance as Roger De Bris in The Producers and will later be seen in My Fair Lady.

The cocky small-time American hustler Freddy Benson will be played by the star of screen and stage, Rowan Witt , who will make his welcome return to the Hayes. Rowan has starred in the blockbuster productions Hamilton and The Book of Mormon and played the leading role of Georg Nowack in She Loves Me at the Hayes. Currently, he can be seen in the television series Ghosts Australia and Totally Completely Fine.

Starring alongside Blake Erickson and Rowan Witt is Kristina McNamara as Christine Colgate, Scarlet Lindsay as Jolene Oaks, Jordan Shea as Andre Thibault, Aurélie Roque as Muriel Eubanks and a stellar Ensemble cast featuring Brendan Godwin, Oliver Clisdell, Madelene Kirkwood, Emma Feliciano and Christopher Tendai. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is brought to life by celebrated Director Rebecca McNamee and Dylan Pollard as Musical Director, set design by Soham Apte, costume designs by Angelina Daniel and produced by Ebony Tucker.

Expect bold physical comedy, razor-edged elegance, and performances as dazzling as a Riviera sunset.
