The curtain has tonight come down for the final time on the popular cabaret concept Showqueen.
The weekly cabaret event, which was launched by Trevor Ashley (pictured) two years ago, has become a performance outlet for some of the country’s best performers. It also provided a strong avenue for rising stars.
Ashley has pulled the concept due to “work commitments”.
The Showqueen legacy is strong. Apart from its well-supported weekly performances, it leaves behind two CDs featuring some of the country’s most spectacular performers.
Amongst those performing at the final show tonight were Phil Scott, Queenie Van De Zandt, Amelia Cormack and Virginia Gay.
