Burlesque is fun, playful and sexy, but what happens when it’s combined with George Lucas’s famous American sci-fi franchise, Star Wars?
The Empire Strips Back is designed to indulge audiences in a sci-fi fantasy of intergalactic proportions. Since Russall S. Beattie first introduced the show to Australia in 2011, it has been a major hit, exceeding expectations and delighting audiences of over 20,000 people across the country. Now the original Star Wars Burlesque has been rebuilt to make way for The Empire Strips Back, with brand new props, lighting, music and costumes reminiscent of those from Burlesque Dolls.
If you’re a fan of Burlesque, and of course Star Wars, this show is most definitely for you!
“Star Wars Burlesque is great because you take everything you loved as a child and combine that with things you love as an adult, ideally people wearing Stormtrooper masks and combining it with sexy ladies. It just kind of works – it’s a fun thing,” says Beattie.
Tour Schedule:
Perth, 30 -31 May
Albury, 19 June
Melbourne, 20 June
