Tonight at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, The Australian Ballet will kick off its 2013 season with the return of Telstra Ballet in the Bowl at 8pm.
This free concert, accompanied by Orchestra Victoria, will showcase the talented dancers found within the ranks of our National Ballet Company as they perform excerpts from the famous ballets Don Quixote and the iconic Swan Lake.
Telstra, as principal sponsor, have supported the Australian Ballet’s annual free outdoor performances for 13 years in Melbourne, Brisbane, Penrith, Darwin and Canberra. This concert marks the first time in five years that an Aus Ballet outdoor event has been staged in Melbourne.
“The free performance is always a highlight of the year, giving ballet fans and dance enthusiasts the opportunity to witness The Australian Ballet perform in a unique setting – it’s an event not to be missed,” said Paul Harrison, Telstra Area General Manager for Melbourne CBD and West
