As in Sydney, three casts will alternate the roles of Annie and the seven orphans during the season, which opens on 7 April at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC.
Over 450 registrations were received by young hopefuls wishing to land a part in this professional production, and 240 girls were selected to audition for the creative team.
The three lucky girls cast as Annie in the Brisbane production are Jazmine May (10 years old from Ipswich), Anita Munro (11 years old from Tallebedgera), and Chloe Thiel (11 years old from Griffin).
The other orphans will be played by Jessica Balmer, April Beak, Claire Bignell, Cassidy Bonnor, Tiani Cashel-Patterson, Akyra Connell, Chloe Crick, Angelica Di Clemente, Xanthe Dunning, Kennedy Foley, Tegan Fraser, Kiara Mcgowan, Sophie Moman Zoe Platt, Stephanie Rath, Grace Sinclair, Kristin Sparks, Tahlia Traecey, Lucy Turner, Ashley Walsh and Phoebe Wolfe.
Annie will complete its Sydney season at the Lyric Theatre, The Star on March 25 before transferring to Brisbane for a limited season. The show will also head to Melbourne’s Regent Theatre from May 24.
Starring Anthony Warlow, Nancye Hayes, Todd McKenney, Chloe Dallimore, Julie Goodwin and Alan Jones as President Roosevelt, Annie is a perfect musical for the whole family.
“Annie has always been a firm favourite of mine”, said Producer John Frost. “Australians are hungry for good quality entertainment and Annie delivers this in spades.”
