Adelaide Symphony Orchestra Announces Blockbuster Film Concert Season

Three iconic blockbusters, one unforgettable year of cinema and symphony.

For the first time in its history, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is presenting not one, not two, but three cult-classic films in concerts in a single season—bringing Adelaide an epic big screen arena experience they won’t forget!

With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ Part 1 in Concert, and Back to the Future in Concert already on sale, the ASO has announced a third in the instalment of blockbuster films at Adelaide Entertainment Centre in 2025 with tickets now on sale for Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert this August.

Colin Cornish AM, ASO CEO:

This is ASO’s most ambitious film concert season to date . These iconic movies have shaped generations, and now audiences can relive the magic with a full symphony orchestra bringing the scores to life in the arena.

Fans fully embrace the experience, attending in costume as their favourite characters and immersing themselves in the world of the films. With a breathtaking 20m wide high-definition screen and the ASO performing more live to milli-second perfection, every moment is more powerful, more thrilling, and more unforgettable than ever before.

Kate Suthers, ASO Concertmaster:

Film music is one of the most powerful ways for audiences to experience the impact of a live orchestra . Whether it’s the sweeping themes of John Williams’ Star Wars, the spellbinding world of Harry Potter, or the nostalgic energy of Back to the Future, nothing compares to hearing these iconic scores live as the movie plays on the big screen.

CEO Colin Cornish:

For many, film music is the gateway to the world of classical music introducing them to the unique grandeur of a full symphony orchestra and igniting a lifelong appreciation for its many forms.  It reminds us all that classical music doesn’t just represent history – it’s alive, dynamic, and woven into the stories that shape our lives to this day.

Each performance is set to sell quickly, drawing in film lovers, families, and classical music fans alike for three nights of joyful nostalgia.
