Most known for her performance as Celie in the West End and Broadway productions of The Color Purple, Cynthia has recently jumped into the world of film.
Cynthia was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Harriet, a biographical film that follows the story of abolitionist Harriet Tubman. “Stand Up” was written for Harriet by Erivo and co-writer Joshuah Brian Campbell, and was nominated also nominated for an award (Best Original Song).
