Tina Turner Musical to End Seven-Year West End Run This September

London’s Aldwych Theatre will bid farewell to its powerhouse resident Tina – The Tina Turner Musical on 13 September 2025, wrapping up a triumphant seven‐year stint that has made it the venue’s longest‐running production.

Premiering in 2018 with the late rock-and-roll legend’s blessing—and one of her last public appearances at the gala opening—the jukebox bio-musical swiftly became a box-office juggernaut. Powered by Turner’s chart-topping hits and a raw behind-the-music narrative, the show racked up Olivier Award nominations, spawned a hit Broadway transfer, and joined the select league of West End jukebox smashes led by Mamma Mia! and Jersey Boys.

Producers confirmed today that the final performance will close out a 2,000-plus-show run in the 1,200-seat Aldwych, outlasting recent long-runners and bucking post-pandemic headwinds that shuttered several contemporaries. A summer schedule of farewell performances—including special fan events and limited-edition merchandise—aims to give audiences one last chance to “roll on the river” before the curtain falls.

What follows at the Aldwych remains under wraps, although industry chatter points to a swift handover: the theatre’s musical pedigree makes a direct swap likely, with both Broadway imports and high-profile UK premieres in the rumour mill. An announcement is expected shortly after Tina’s final bow.

For now, the production that immortalised “The Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll” on the Strand is gearing up for a lap of honour. Fans keen to say goodbye—or to catch the show for the first time—have just four months left to experience the thunderous score and standing-ovation-worthy finale that helped define West End theatre in the 2020s.
