LONDON – Details and dates have been unveiled for the highly anticipated musical circus show inspired by the hit film ‘The Greatest Showman.’ Titled ‘Come Alive! The Greatest Showman,’ the event will open at the Empress Museum in London’s Earls Court, near West Brompton station, on 23 September 2024.
The show will feature all the beloved songs from the 2017 film, including ‘This Is Me’ and ‘From Now On,’ which starred Hugh Jackman, Zendaya, Michelle Williams, and Zac Efron. With an original story by Jenny Bicks and songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the show will bring the magic of the film to life.
‘Come Alive! The Greatest Showman’ is the brainchild of creative director Simon Hammerstein. The performance will be housed in a dedicated 700-seat big top space and will feature a blend of circus performers and musical theatre stars from the West End and beyond. The show is rated for audiences aged ten and above.
The pre-sale for tickets will begin on 17 July, followed by general sale on 18 July.
Joining Hammerstein on the creative team are music producer and Olivier Award-nominated Matthew Brind (‘Paddington 2,’ ‘Just For One Day’), lead choreographer Jerry Reeve (‘The Voice UK,’ the Queen’s Jubilee Platinum Party at the Palace), and Emmy Award-nominated lighting designer Adam Bassett for Woodroffe Bassett Design (‘London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony,’ ‘Adele – Live’).
The original 2017 film followed the story of P.T. Barnum, the pioneering circus owner who achieved significant success in the US. Given the film’s major box office success, there has been much anticipation surrounding a stage adaptation, and this new circus show is set to capture the essence of the beloved movie.
