Scenes of Wicked film featuring Ariana Grande unveiled at CinemaCon

The highly anticipated movie adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical, Wicked, has unveiled some early footage that’s already casting its spell on eager fans. Slated for release next autumn, this two-part epic has been generating buzz non-stop as we’re tantalized with fresh details, on-set glimpses, and casting reveals.

The internet went into overdrive when select scenes from the final films were showcased at CinemaCon. Although we won’t spoil the magic by sharing leaked clips, attendees were captivated by what they saw. Reports include Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, expertly guiding Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba to master her witchcraft, and glimpses of unforgettable performances like “Defying Gravity” and “Popular” featuring Erivo and Ariana Grande’s Glinda.

Viewers were also treated to iconic visuals of Glinda in her bubble and Elphaba soaring on her broomstick, alongside Jeff Goldblum’s enchanting Wizard. The heartwarming bond between Elphaba and Glinda took center stage, with memorable lines like “Pink goes good with green” and Glinda’s iconic response, “I know. That’s what makes me so nice.”

Director Jon M. Chu confirmed that Wicked will be a true spectacle, with grand, real sets rather than relying on CGI or blue-screen techniques. Jon M. Chu is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter best known for his work in various genres, including action, musicals, and romantic comedies.
