London’s West End to Welcome Full Cast for The Devil Wears Prada

The highly anticipated West End premiere of The Devil Wears Prada has announced its full cast, with Vanessa Williams taking the lead as the formidable Miranda Priestly. This musical adaptation of the 2006 film features music by Elton John, lyrics by 2024 Tony nominee Shaina Taub (Suffs), and a book by Kate Wetherhead.

The production will debut with a pre-West End preview at Theatre Royal Plymouth from July 6 to August 17 before transferring to London’s Dominion Theatre in October.

Vanessa Williams, known for her commanding presence, will star as Miranda Priestly. Joining her is Georgie Buckland in her West End debut as Andy, Amy Di Bartolomeo (SIX: The Musical) as Emily, James Darch as Christian, Rhys Whitfield as Nate, and Olivier winner Matt Henry as Nigel.

The ensemble cast includes Maddy Ambus, Gabby Antrobus, Selena Barron, Pamela Blair, Robertina Bonano, Lloyd Davies, Elishia Edwards, Akeem Ellis-Hyman, Elizabeth Fullalove, Jinny Gould, Natasha Heyward, Samuel How, Luke Jackson, Debbie Kurup, Liam Marcellino, Robbie McMillan, Ciro Lourencio Meulens, Gabriel Mokake, Theo Papoui, Christopher Parkinson, Eleanor Peach, Ethan Le Phong, Jon Reynolds, Harriet Samuel-Gray, Olivia Saunders, Kayleigh Thadani, Ella Valentine, and Tara Yasmin.

Based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger and its 2006 film adaptation, The Devil Wears Prada follows the story of Andy Sachs, an aspiring fashion journalist who lands a job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of the fictional Runway Magazine. Andy soon learns that the fashion industry demands more than she ever anticipated.

The musical had its world premiere at Chicago’s James M. Nederlander Theatre in 2022, directed by Tony winner Anna D. Shapiro and starring Tony winner Beth Leavel and Taylor Iman Jones as Miranda and Andy.

For the West End staging, director Tony Mitchell has assembled a new creative team, including scenic design by Tim Hatley, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Bruno Poet, and sound design by Gareth Owen. Casting is by Jill Green.

Producers Kevin McCollum and David Furnish of Rocket Entertainment, who were part of the Chicago premiere, are joined by Jamie Wilson for the London production. The show is presented in special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical.

The Devil Wears Prada is poised to captivate London audiences with its star-studded cast and creative team.
