Les Misérables Arena Spectacular UK Tour Cast Announced

The highly anticipated Les Misérables Arena Spectacular UK tour is set to kick off this September, bringing the beloved Boublil and Schönberg musical to audiences across the country. While the original production continues at the West End’s Sondheim Theatre, this expansive concert version will tour 15 countries, including the UK, Italy, Denmark, Australia, Japan, and South Korea.

Produced by Cameron Mackintosh, the Arena Spectacular will feature a massive cast of 110 performers and a 65-piece orchestra, promising a grander experience than ever before. The cast includes renowned performers Alfie Boe, Michael Ball, and Bonnie Langford, among others.

Key Cast Members:

• Jean Valjean: Alfie Boe, known for his OBE and multiple UK top 10 albums, will reprise his iconic role. Boe has portrayed Valjean five times on stage and in concert and has also starred in productions such as Baz Luhrmann’s La bohème and Finding Neverland on Broadway.
• Javert (select dates): Michael Ball, also an OBE, will take on the role of the relentless inspector. Ball originally debuted in Les Misérables as Marius and has since played both Valjean and Javert. He is also known for roles in Sweeney Todd and Hairspray and represented the UK in the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest.
• Madame Thénardier: Bonnie Langford, familiar to many as Mel Bush from Doctor Who, will play the scheming innkeeper. Langford has an extensive stage career, with roles in Chicago, Cats, and Guys and Dolls.

The Arena Spectacular is an expanded version of the Les Misérables Staged Concert, featuring the full musical soundtrack performed by a cast of theatre actors. This sung-through musical adaptation will have a new design tailored for arena settings, enhancing the grandeur of the production.

London Tour Date:

The Les Misérables Arena Spectacular will also visit London as part of its world tour, though specific dates are yet to be announced. Meanwhile, the original stage show continues its 39th year at the Sondheim Theatre, with performances every Monday to Saturday.
