Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar will return to London’s West End next summer, taking the London Palladium slot from 20 June to 5 September 2026. Sam Ryder will make his theatre debut as Jesus, bringing his powerhouse vocals to the title role.
The production is the acclaimed staging first seen at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2016, directed by Tim Sheader, which later transferred to the Barbican. It blends concert energy with dramatic storytelling to chart the final days of Jesus through the eyes of Judas. The score features I Do Not Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane, and the anthemic Superstar. Further casting will be announced.
Lloyd Webber’s catalog continues to drive headlines, with Jamie Lloyd’s Evita starring Rachel Zegler drawing major attention this year, a UK first revival of Cats announced, and Sunset Boulevard collecting awards in the United States.
Jesus Christ Superstar plays the London Palladium from 20 June to 5 September 2026. Tickets go on sale 26 November, with a pre sale on 25 November. Ticket prices are to be confirmed.
