‘Heathers the Musical’ is set to make a grand return to London’s West End. The show will be staged at @sohoplace, offering a limited engagement from May 22 through July 6, 2024. Following its West End run, the production will embark on its third UK tour, starting at the Theatre Royal Windsor on July 24.
Based on the iconic 1989 film featuring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, ‘Heathers the Musical’ has garnered critical acclaim, including a WhatsOnStage Award. The musical, with book, music, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe, is renowned for its dark humor and engaging storyline.
Under the direction of Andy Fickman, the show boasts choreography by Gary Lloyd, scenic designs by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, and sound design by Dan Samson. This production marks the musical’s return to the West End following successful runs in 2018 and 2021, as well as its staging at The Other Palace from 2021 to 2023 and two previous UK tours.
The production team, comprising Bill Kenwright Ltd and Paul Taylor-Mills, promises a unique and intimate experience for the audience at @sohoplace. After its stint in London, the musical will tour various UK cities including Bath, Portsmouth, Cardiff, Newcastle, Milton Keynes, Chester, Sheffield, Stockton, and Torquay, with additional locations to be announced.
West End performances are scheduled from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm, with two shows on Friday at 5pm and 8.30pm, and on Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Special scheduling adjustments have been made for the half-term holidays from May 27 to June 1, including a unique Friday performance time and additional matinees.
Casting details for the upcoming run are expected to be announced soon, adding to the anticipation for this beloved musical’s return to one of the most celebrated theatre districts in the world.
