Dolly Parton Bio-Musical Hello, I’m Dolly to Open on Broadway in 2026

Dolly Parton’s life and legacy will take center stage on Broadway with the new musical biography Hello, I’m Dolly, set to debut in 2026. The show borrows its title from Parton’s first studio album and features a score composed by Parton herself, including new material and her classic hits. The book is co-written by Parton and Maria S Schlatter, who previously collaborated on Parton’s holiday film Christmas on the Square.

While the cast and creative team are yet to be announced, anticipation is building for this homage to the iconic singer-songwriter.

Dolly Parton, recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, continues to break records. Her latest album, Rockstar, achieved the highest debut sales week of her career, spanning seven decades. Parton is the only artist to top Billboard’s Adult Contemporary, Christian AC Songs, Hot Country Songs, Christian Airplay, Rock Digital Songs, Country Airplay, and Dance/Mix Show Airplay radio charts. She has had 26 songs reach the number one spot on the country charts.

An 11-time Grammy winner, Parton has also made a significant impact through her philanthropic efforts, notably donating 242 million books to children worldwide through her Imagination Library. Her timeless songs include Jolene, 9 to 5, I Will Always Love You, Islands in the Stream, and Coat of Many Colors. She wrote the score for the Broadway adaptation of 9 to 5, earning a Tony Award nomination.

In addition to Hello, I’m Dolly, another musical featuring Parton’s hits, Here You Come Again, is currently making its UK premiere, further showcasing her enduring influence in the world of music and theatre.
