A dazzling new adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland is set to captivate audiences in London next summer, making its UK debut at the Marylebone Theatre.
The production, reimagined by playwright Penny Farrow (Songs for Sarah Connor), will feature original music and puppetry to bring Carroll’s whimsical world to life. Directed and designed by Nate Bertone (How To Dance in Ohio), the adaptation promises a fresh take on the beloved tale of a young girl’s fantastical journey through a rabbit hole of surreality and intrigue.
Originally premiering in Australia in 2016, this kaleidoscopic classic has already enchanted over 100,000 audience members. Its London run will take place from 19 July to 31 August 2025, bringing the magic of Carroll’s timeless characters, including the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, and Queen of Hearts, to a new audience.
The production is a collaboration between DEM Productions, Ethan Walker, and Nate Bertone. DEM Productions, known for their hit festive show A Sherlock Carol, will follow its sold-out runs in 2022 and 2023 with a third season this winter at the Marylebone Theatre, reinforcing the venue’s growing reputation for innovative and engaging productions.
Tickets for Alice in Wonderland are expected to go on sale soon, offering London theatre-goers a chance to experience this imaginative retelling of one of literature’s most enduring adventures.
