Adrienne Warren and Nick Jonas to Star in The Last Five Years on Broadway

Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren are set to star in the first-ever Broadway production of Jason Robert Brown’s acclaimed musical, The Last Five Years, scheduled for the spring of 2025.

The production will be directed by Tony nominee Whitney White, known for her work on Jaja’s African Hair Braiding. This two-character musical explores the relationship between Jamie (Jonas) and Cathy (Warren) as they navigate the ups and downs of their five-year romance.

Warren and Jonas follow in the footsteps of Sherie Rene Scott and Norbert Leo Butz, who starred in the original off-Broadway production directed by Daisy Prince, as well as Betsy Wolfe and Adam Kantor, who led the off-Broadway revival at Second Stage. The musical was also adapted into a film featuring Jeremy Jordan and Anna Kendrick, directed by Richard LaGravenese. Recently, the show had a successful run in the West End with Molly Lynch and Oli Higginson.

This production marks Jonas’s return to the Broadway stage after a 12-year hiatus, his last appearance being in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He also has experience on the West End stage with Les Misérables.

Adrienne Warren, a Tony Award winner, is renowned for her role as Tina Turner in Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, a role she originated in both London and New York.

Further details, including the creative team and venue, will be announced at a later date. This highly anticipated production is set to bring fresh life to a beloved musical, promising a memorable experience for Broadway audiences.
