‘2:22 A Ghost Story’ Set for Triumphant Return to London’s West End

‘2:22 A Ghost Story,’ the gripping thriller that has captivated audiences across the globe, is making a much-anticipated return to London’s West End this summer. The play, penned by acclaimed writer Danny Robins and brought to life under the direction of Matthew Dunster and Isabel Marr, is slated to reopen at the Gielgud Theatre from May 25 through August 4.

Set against a backdrop of eerie occurrences, the story centers around Jenny, a woman convinced that her house is haunted every night at precisely 2:22 am. Since its debut in 2020 at the Noël Coward Theatre with a star-studded cast including Lily Allen and Jake Wood, the production has enjoyed overwhelming success. To date, it has drawn an audience of over 690,000 people, staging performances in 18 UK cities and international locations like Los Angeles and Melbourne.

The original production garnered critical acclaim, securing the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Play and earning accolades for Allen and Wood. Throughout its run, the play has featured at notable venues such as the Criterion Theatre, Lyric Theatre, and Apollo Theatre, with a host of celebrities like Stephanie Beatriz, Giovanna Fletcher, and Tom Felton gracing the stage.

Details on casting for the upcoming West End season will be revealed soon. The production boasts a creative team including set designer Anna Fleischle, costume designer Cindy Lin, lighting expert Lucy Carter, and sound designer Ian Dickinson for Autograph Sound, along with illusions crafted by Chris Fisher. Casting is overseen by Matilda James.

Meanwhile, the current UK and Ireland tour of ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’ will continue, with shows scheduled in Manchester, Dublin, and concurrently in London. The production is led by producers Tristan Baker, Charlie Parsons, Isobel David, and Kater Gordon of Runaway Entertainment. Tickets for the West End shows go on sale on April 24, promising another spellbinding season of mystery and intrigue.
