I Wish. More than anything…
We wish to send you to the movies – on us! AussieTheatre are giving away 10 double passes to see the brand new movie musical adaptation of Sondheim’s Into The Woods on the big screen across the country.
Starring Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Johnny Depp and Chris Pine, Into the Woods is a humorous and heartfelt musical that follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.
Rob Marshall, the talented filmmaker behind the Academy Award-winning movie musical Chicago directed the film, which is based on the Tony Award winning original musical by James Lapine (who also penned the screenplay) and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics).
The big screen adaptation welcomes most of the songs from the original musical, which premiered on Broadway on November 5, 1987 at the Martin Beck Theatre and ran for 764 performances.
Into The Woods opens in cinemas nationally on January 8, 2015 and the double passes are valid at participating cinemas.
We are also giving away 5 special Into The Woods Gift packages, each gift bag includes:
1 x Into The Woods Memo Pad Set
1 x Into The Woods Musical Notebook
1 x Into The Woods Canvas Bag
1 x Into The Woods CD Soundtrack
Competition closes Wednesday 17 December at 6pm and winners will be contacted via email/phone. Prizes will be posted this week – what a wonderful Christmas gift for a musical lover!
