Backstage with Bakker: Sarah Bakker takes us backstage at Chess on the West End (Part 1)

Australian musical theatre actress Sarah Bakker has spent the last few years living and working in London. Originally from Brisbane, Sarah has appeared in a number of productions including Chicago in Australia and The Phantom of the Opera (Christine Understudy) and Mary Poppins (Mary Understudy) both in Australia and on Broadway.

She moved to London in 2015 and has since appeared in Evita, Follies as Young Heidi at the Royal Albert Hall, Mrs Henderson Presents and An American in Paris.

Most recently she appeared at the London Coliseum in a brand new production of Chess. We were lucky enough for her to take AussieTheatre.com on an exclusive trip backstage to see what goes on inside a West End Theatre, hear the story of Chess in under a minute, meet fellow Aussie cast member Robbie McMillan and hear about the exciting drama that happened during their first preview.

Stay tuned for Chess part 2 coming soon where Sarah chats to superstars Cassidy Janson and Michael Ball.
