With the gala opening fast approaching and such a huge program on offer at this year’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival it’s almost impossible to choose. Here’s our hot picks for the season – the shows to most look forward to!
We’ve seen them before, and we’ve had a taste of how awesome they are. More of the same please!
Frisky & Mannish – They’re kooky, they’re quirky and they’re freaking funny. A hit at the Festival in 2008 and on the Fringe circuit. It’s musical mayhem and we love it.
Storm Large – She’s got anatomy that’s 8 miles wide and the audiences love to hear about it… she’s a twisted diva with a massive voice and she’s back at the Festival to thrill audiences once again. A surprising hit!
We grow ’em good in SA.
Exposing Edith – We hope you’ve got your ticket because this one’s already sold out. Michaela Burger is Adelaide’s own little sparrow and has taken the nation by storm with her Edith Piaf tribute show along with Greg Wain.
From one extreme to another, the crucible of cabaret is like no other.
Pennsylvania Ave – after the massive success of Songs for Nobodies, Bernadette Robinson earned her stripes as a supremely talented performer who is able to embody women from all backgrounds… this time round the women have a strong connection to the US White House (I’m betting her Marylin is spot on!)
