Pursued by an army officer determined to silence her\, she enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together\, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home\, love\, and family.  \nWith its opulent settings\, dazzling costumes\, and a soaring score including musical highlights from the 1997 animated hit film\, Journey to the Past and Once Upon a December\, ANASTASIA is the spectacular Broadway musical about discovering who you are and defining who you’re meant to be.  \n  \n\n  \nThere have been two films telling the captivating story of Anastasia including the 1956 film with Ingrid Bergman\, Helen Hayes and Yul Brynner\, and the 1997 20th Century Fox animated film\, which featured a score by the musical’s creators\, Ahrens and Flaherty.  \nDirected by Tony Award winning director Darko Tresnjak\, ANASTASIA premiered on Broadway in March 2017 and played to sold out audiences for three years before productions in Germany\, Spain\, The Netherlands\, Brazil\, Mexico and Japan as well as two North American tours. It also received a Tony Award nomination for Best Costume Design in a Musical and won more than 15 major international awards including Best Musical awards in Germany\, the Netherlands and Spain.  \nThe book for ANASTASIA was written by the late five time Tony Award winning writer Terrence McNally\, whose credits include Love! Valour! Compassion!\, Master Class\, Kiss of the Spider Woman and Ragtime.  \nMusic and lyrics for ANASTASIA were written by the renowned writing team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens who have been referred to as “one of the greatest songwriting teams in Broadway history” (Chicago Tribune).  \nThey have received theatre\, film and music’s highest honours including the Tony Award\, Drama Desk\, Outer Critics Circle and Olivier Awards for Ragtime\, as well as nominations for two Academy Awards\, two Golden Globes and four Grammys. In 2014 they received the Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement and in 2015 they were inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame.  \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:MJ the Musical
DESCRIPTION:MJ takes the audience back to 1992 and inside the creation of the iconic Dangerous World Tour. The production goes beyond the singular moves and signature sound of the star\, offering a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Michael Jackson into legendary status.Seen by more than a million people on Broadway\, MJ was nominated for 10 Tony Awards\, winning four including Best Choreography for the show’s creator\, Artistic Associate of The Royal Ballet Christopher Wheeldon OBE\, and Best Actor in a Musical for the show’s original Broadway star\, Myles Frost. MJ will be a highlight of Sydney’s cultural events calendar in 2025\, further establishing Sydney as the centre point for creativity in the Asia Pacific region. Created by Tony Award®-winning Director/Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage\, MJ the Musical will play in Melbourne from 9 September 2025. \n  \nMJ will premiere in Sydney in 2025. Photo from the Original Broadway production featuring Myles Frost as Michael Jackson.MJ will premiere in Sydney in 2025. Photo from the Original Broadway production featuring Myles Frost as Michael Jackson.\n  \nFrom the brilliant mind of two-time Pulitzer Prize winning Nottage\, MJ imagines that an MTV journalist and her camera operator are invited into the rehearsal room as Michael Jackson creates the spectacular concert experience that was the Dangerous World Tour. Through their lens\, MJ reveals moments from the complex history of his life and takes us on a journey into his imagination and his inspiration as he faces the challenges to make the Dangerous World Tour match his creative genius. \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Once Upon a One More Time
DESCRIPTION:Broadway Talent Joins Sydney Production of Once Upon a One More Time \nSydney audiences are set for a rare theatrical treat\, with Broadway performers joining the cast of Once Upon a One More Time in an exciting new local production. \nPresented by ACTiv Elite Theatre Co\, the musical features Lexi Toye (Hamilton\, Dance Captain for Hamilton touring company) and Teddy Toye (The Prom\, Mean Girls\, Bring it On) performing alongside a cast of emerging Australian performers\, including Mikayla Burnham as Cinderella\, Nicholas Reese as Prince Charming\, Matt Dorahy as the Narrator and Izzy Hanly as one of the Stepsisters. \nBlending the high production values of professional theatre with the heart of an independent company\, the production marks a bold step forward for independent musical theatre in Sydney. ACTiv Elite Theatre Co has produced SpongeBob the Musical\, Songs for a New World\, Legally Blonde and Annie. Giving it’s performing arts school (ACTiv Elite Performers) a real live training ground for its students to perform in musicals alongside pre-professional and professional artists. This formula has caused an enormous surge in students’ performance ability and confidence. \nPaul Escorrido (Once on this Island\, A Beautiful Noise) who played Patrick Star in their 2025 of SpongeBob\, said\, “I would have LOVED to have a place like ACTiv growing up\, and I’m so glad that every kid I met doing this show (who reminds me so much of myself) has this incredibly inclusive and safe environment where their passions and differences are celebrated.” \nOnce Upon a One More Time reimagines classic fairytale heroines as they challenge the roles they’ve been given\, set to the iconic music of Britney Spears. Packed with humour\, energy and a strong message of empowerment\, the show continues to build global momentum following its Broadway run. \nWith a growing reputation for ambitious productions\, ACTiv Elite Theatre Co continues to push beyond expectations\, creating pathways for performers while delivering high-quality theatre experiences for audiences.
