THE CHOIR OF MAN moves to Arts at Marble Arch for limited London season
THE CHOIR OF MAN will establish a new London home at Arts at Marble Arch this Christmas, playing a limited season from Thursday 10 December 2026 to Sunday 14 February 2027. The Olivier Award-nominated production arrives after its first UK and Ireland tour, less than a year after its latest engagement at the original Arts Theatre ended. Press night is scheduled for Wednesday 16 December.
The development is materially different from THE CHOIR OF MAN’s previously announced returns to the Arts Theatre. AussieTheatre reported in December 2024 on plans for its 2025 season at that original venue. The August 2026 announcement instead confirms a move to another London theatre after the Arts Theatre engagement finished in January, with the intervening UK and Ireland tour separating the two periods. It is therefore a new venue and season, not a continuation of the booking covered in 2024.
Arts at Marble Arch is a temporary venue created to maintain programming while the Arts Theatre is redeveloped. It had already opened earlier in 2026, with HEATHERS identified as its first production, so THE CHOIR OF MAN will not be its inaugural show. An update from Marble Arch London also records that earlier planning anticipated a transfer by HH Productions. The producer’s 28 August announcement converts that proposal into a confirmed limited season.
THE CHOIR OF MAN first played the Arts Theatre in October 2021 and returned through a series of engagements and pauses until January 2026. Its West End history therefore should not be described as an uninterrupted five-year run. Across those engagements, its producers report more than 1,000 performances and more than 280,000 attendees. The show also received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment or Comedy Play.
Between its original West End home and Marble Arch, THE CHOIR OF MAN has been travelling on its first UK and Ireland tour. It opened at New Wimbledon Theatre in March 2026 and visits more than 30 towns and cities before culminating at Edinburgh Festival Theatre in December. The production’s official global schedule lists the tour as booking through 5 December. The London season begins five days after that listed endpoint, giving the return a clear place in the production’s 2026 chronology.
The show is set in an on-stage pub called The Jungle and uses a company of nine performers. Ensemble singing is combined with live instrumental performance, tap and spoken storytelling. Its repertoire includes music associated with Queen, Luther Vandross, Sia, Paul Simon, Adele, Guns N’ Roses, Avicii and Katy Perry. The blend of familiar pop songs and pub-set performance forms the production’s central theatrical format.
THE CHOIR OF MAN was created by Nic Doodson and Andrew Kay and is directed by Doodson. The announced team also includes Jack Blume, Freddie Huddleston, Ben Norris, Oli Townsend, Richard Dinnen, Verity Sadler and Debbie O’Brien. The Marble Arch season is produced by HH Productions, Doodson, Kay, Global Creative and Kenny Wax.
No performers have yet been confirmed for the Marble Arch company. The current official West End website displays named performers alongside material identified with the 2026 touring cast, but the London announcement does not assign those artists to the new season. Those names therefore cannot be treated as the London cast, and any transfer from the touring company remains unconfirmed.
Sydney Opera House has separately scheduled THE CHOIR OF MAN from 11 December 2026 to 24 January 2027. That season is presented by Sydney Opera House, Andrew Kay and Nic Doodson. It opens one day after the Marble Arch season and runs across the core Christmas and New Year period, creating a substantial overlap between the London and Australian engagements.
The producers report that the show has previously played three seasons at Sydney Opera House. AussieTheatre has also covered its 2026 Brisbane engagement. The newly confirmed Sydney dates therefore extend an established Australian production history while giving local readers a parallel season to the newly announced London relocation.
Because the Sydney dates overlap the London run for more than six weeks, the two bookings must be treated as parallel stagings rather than as one company moving from city to city. Casting for each production needs to be assessed independently. In particular, no inference can yet be made about whether members of the UK and Ireland touring company will appear at Marble Arch.
Best of Theatre reports that public tickets for the London season go on sale on Wednesday 2 September 2026. The producer release did not establish an exact on-sale time or ticket prices, and the complete performance calendar, access schedule and booking conditions had not been confirmed at the time of reporting. Public sale is the next fixed London milestone; casting and detailed performance information remain the principal announcements still to come.
