Melbourne International Comedy Festival Has Laughs For All
More kids’ shows than ever have been announced for the 2025 Melbourne International Comedy Festival which kicks off on 26 March.
With performances suitable for young kids to those that will entertain the whole family – our special program for our younger comedy fans runs each weekend of the Festival, Easter and throughout term one school holidays.
The (Very) Big Laugh Out hosted by Tash York on Good Friday, 18 April will bring a variety of kids’ entertainment to the Fed Square stage. Running from 1-5pm, this is a free event starring the wackiest and most wonderful street performers, stand-up, physical and musical comedy performers around. Featuring Josh Glanc, Nat Harris & Hannah Camilleri, Polite Mammals, Dane Simpson, Kirsty Webeck, Clara Cupcakes, Bubble Laboratory, DJ Monski Mouse and more.

Our special Comedy Club for Kids is on every day (excluding Mondays) from 5-20 April at the Melbourne Museum and features a rotating lineup of the best comedy for kids aged six to 12.
With Dandyman, Jon & Jero, Showko, Mr Snotbottom, Tricksy Collins, Lauren Bok and more – there will be something that makes every small (and big) kid laugh.
Other kids’ highlights this year include:
Aboriginal Comedy Allstars for Kids– Our premier First Nations comedians present a one-off kids’ show jam-packed with laughs, singalongs, dance and an education for all no matter where you’re from and who’s your mob. Sunday 13 April – ACMI
Monski Mouse’s – Baby Disco Dance Hall- Join DJ Monski Mouse and her dancers for this award-winning, epic session of bopping, bonkers, beautiful fun. Expect high-energy smiling to retro beats and thumping nursery rhymes. 5-20 April – ACMI
Mojo & Jimmy – The Totally Awesome Magic Show. Packed with dazzling illusions, cheeky humour and a heartwarming message, this show is a rollercoaster of thrills that will leave the whole family begging for more. Created by a Broadway magician and The World Champion of Magic, this is family entertainment at its absolute finest. 5-20 April – Melbourne Museum

Kaboom! is a feast for the senses and educational entertainment at its absolute best! Utilising a fascinating array of scientific gadgets, join this fan-favourite and multi-award-winning entertainer for this incredible conglomeration of explosions, experiments, hilarity and audience participation. 18-20 April – Fairfax Studio, Arts Centre Melbourne
Jon & Jero – The Forgotten Tales is an improvised comedy experience for the whole family presented by Melbourne’s tallest comedy duo, Jon & Jero, alongside a live musician on piano. 5-20 April – ACMI
Playhouse Pantomimes – Story Soup. An hilarious team of improvisers will make up a brandnew musical pantomime on the spot each show. But they need your help! Bring along a head full of ideas and they’ll create a fairytale based on suggestions that the audience provide. There’ll be plenty of music and plenty of laughs. 5-20 April – ACMI
Festival favourites, The Listies – 110% Ready sees Rich and Matt do something no family in Australia has ever done before – leave the house on time! Featuring a poop-load of puns, silly slapstick sight gags and a splash of improvisational idiocy, 110% Ready sees Melbourne’s masters of mirth do what they do best for 55 solid minutes of full family lols. 5-19 April The Malthouse

Unbelievable as ever, Circus Oz bring an irreverent medley of apparently impossible things as acrobats, tumblers, flying, tight rope and slack wire conjure their way into the not-so-everyday world. Returning to the iconic Melbourne Town Hall for a strictly limited season. 16-20 April – Melbourne Town Hall
And while you’re at it, come and support some of the funniest teens in Australia at the Class Clowns National Grand Final hosted by Sez. This one-of-a-kind, national secondary school comedy competition – which is part of the festival’s development program – encourages teenagers to unleash their comic voice through stand-up, sketch, musical or physical comedy.
