The film follows Shelly (Pamela Anderson), a seasoned showgirl who must plan for her future when her show closes abruptly after a 30-year run. As a dancer in her fifties, she struggles with what to do next. As amother, she strives to repair a strained relationship with herdaughter, who often took a backseat toher showgirl family.

Directed by Gia Coppola and written by Kate Gersten, THE LAST SHOWGIRL is a richly nuanced portrait of a multi-generational group of women facing an uncertain future when their long-running rhinestones-and-feathers revue–and with it, a foundational element of the Vegas mystique–comesto an end.

In a revelatory turn as the titular dancer, Pamela Anderson captures the vulnerability,tenacity, pride and grit of a woman who has made hard choices in pursuing her dreams, yetsteadfastly pushes on in the face of a transactional culture which must adapt to the societal bias ofageism and a bottom line revenue stream.
